MASP Task Tree Editor

The MASP Task Tree Editor (MTTE) enables a designer to analyze and model task trees. The MTTE is realized as an Eclipse Plug-in based on GMF technology. This tutorial should help all those which start with MTTE (MASP Task Tree Editor).

Installation

System requirements

Eclipse configuration

Before installing MTTE it is required to install all GMF libraries and plugins first. Therefore please follow these steps:

  • Help > Software Updates > Find and install…
  • Search for new features to install
  • Europa Discovery Site
  • Select the Graphical Modeling Framework like depicted in the following screenshot

Eclipse might require some dependencies that need to be selected as well by pushing the button “Select Required”, which will install all required dependencies as well.

Now you are ready to install MTTE by repeating steps 1-2 and then adding a new “New Remote Site”. As the “Name” you can enter “MTTE” and in the field “URL” please enter the URL of the MTTE update site: masp.dai-labor.de/plugins/mtte/

Creating a MTTE Project

Open the menu File > New and create a new empty project. Thereafter open File > New > MTTE Diagram. A wizard will be started, where you can select or name the target directory in which the task diagramm will be saved. In this location two files will be created, one will end with".mtte" (the model) and one will end with ".mtte_diagram". Currently both must be set independently but we recommend to name them identically but with different postfix. Thus, in the first field enter "yourtaskmodel.mtte_diagram" and in the second field (after pushing the next button), enter "yourtaskmodel.mtte".

MTTE Tutorial Video

A video (in german) where Veit explains the basic features of the MASP and demonstrates how to design Task models with the MTTE. Further on he shows how to simulate the task model with the MASP task simulator tool that can calculate and execute the basic task flow from a task model.
